Yilin is an independent artist and designer. She was born in 1999 in Jiangxi, China.

She completed her undergraduate studies at the China Academy of Art (Hangzhou) and later pursued further education at Goldsmiths, University of London (London). Her creative practice spans illustration and knitting design.

She has worked for international NGO and top luxury group, and is currently focusing on her graphic novel , I am my hometown.

"I am my hometown" is based on the artist's personal experience from a small county of the inland China to Shanghai, and then to London. This work delves into the protagonist’s search of identity, exploring the confusion and uncertainty individuals face amid class and regional disparities in the context of China's rapid development and its collision with Western culture. It critically reflects on East Asian family dynamics, education, and attitudes toward love and marriage, ultimately pointing toward a new path that reconciles tradition and modernity, and bridges between East and West.
